Please be respectful and aware of those around you. The studio is a sacred place and we ask that you leave your shoes and any belongings you will not be using in class in our storage cubbies or leave them at home. Cell phones must be placed on airplane mode or turned off so as not to disrupt class. Refrain from wearing perfume, cologne, aftershave or any other strongly scented products. Please be considerate of your fellow students and do not make excessive noise or leave class during savasana.

Arrival: Please arrive on-time (5-10 minutes prior to class is ideal; studio opens 15 minutes before class). We do understand that the unexpected happens, and allow a 5-minute grace period past the start time. After that, we lock our doors for the security of our students and their belongings.
Checking In: Clients can check themselves in at the iPad kiosk. If you reserved you spot online/in the app, please verify on the iPad that yo

What do I need to bring?

Just you! We have everything you need for practice—mats, blocks, bolsters, blankets, straps, small towels. Most students prefer to bring their own mats, but if you forget yours or aren't ready to commit to purchasing your own, ours are always available for use. Props and mats are free to use (we just ask that you use the mat cleaner we supply to wipe down your mat as well as you'd hope the person before you did!).
Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated, if you'd like. We have a LIPSEY water fountain for refills and sell bottled water too.

What should I wear?

Wear something that is comfortable, breathable, and that doesn't leave you feeling restricted. We recommend wearing something fitted so loose fabric doesn't get in the way of your practice.

What classes do you recommend for beginners?

Our Foundations classes are a great place to start. These will introduce you to the poses that form the basis of a yoga practice. A little slower-paced, Foundations classes will give you and the teacher time to go more in-depth into the asanas to focus on proper form and alignment. But remember, basic doesn't mean easy so you can still expect to be challenged!
All of our Yin classes (Yin, Yin Restorative & Yin + Back Care) are also beginner-friendly. These gentle classes are floor-based and frequently use props to support the body in longer-held poses that aim to release tension in connective tissue and fascia. Yin also helps to promote a level of body-awareness that will help you in all of your classes, especially if you are just beginning your yoga journey!

What are warm classes?

Our warm classes are heated between 80-85°. In contrast, regular classes are between 77-80°. Read more about the role of heat in yoga practice here.

What is the difference between regular classes and workshops/series?

Workshops and series exist outside our regular schedule (workshops are single sessions, while series offer consecutive sessions). These offer the opportunity to offer specialty classes that focus on a specific topic or practice. Workshops/series often consist of a longer session, giving more time for the teacher and students to delve into the subject at hand, breakdown topics, and discuss the practice.

It's my first time at the studio. What should I do?

All new students must create an account with us and sign a liability waiver. To speed up the process, you can register online in advance. Please stop by the front desk to introduce yourself to the team and we will give you a quick rundown of the studio and answer any questions you might have. We look forward to meeting you!

Can I bring my child to class?

Students age 13-17 must be accompanied and have a waiver signed by a parent/ guardian.
Parent/guardian must be in attendance of the class with children aged 13-15. The child is the parent’s responsibility and we ask the parents judgment to only bring a child to class who is able to follow instruction and be focused for the duration of class. Students 16 and over may attend on their own with parent/guardian's permission following the initial visit.

Do you have showers?

We do not have showers at our studio, but do have a large restroom and offer changing rooms if you need to use them before or after practice.

Will my belongings be safe in the studio?

We do lock the studio door once practice begins to keep your things secure. However, please note that LiveURYoga is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

I left something behind at the studio; do you have a Lost & Found?

We have a Lost and Found bin at the front of our studio. You can check in-between classes or contact us to see if we have your item. Periodically, we will donate any unclaimed items that have been left at the studio for an extended period, so please collect your things promptly to ensure their return.
